Senior Java Software Engineer in Bratislava
Your tasks
- Lead the development and enhancement of the backend for a SaaS payment platform
- Build and maintain web applications in collaboration with a cross-functional team
- Participate in code reviews and guide team members in best practices and coding guidelines
- Mentor and lead a growing team of backend engineers
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, and proactively integrate them into the development process
- Work closely with the teams located in Vienna and Cologne, regularly visiting the Vienna office, especially during the onboarding phase
Your Profile
- Experience: At least 5 years in backend development, ideally within the FinTech, payments, or banking sector.
- Team Spirit: A proactive, collaborative team player.
- Mindset: Passionate about shaping and driving the payment product forward.
- Attitude: Open to new ideas, with high quality standards and a strong service orientation.
- Language Skills: English at C1 level (native or near-native fluency); other European languages are an advantage.
- Work Authorization: Valid work permit for Slovakia and the ability to work on-site in Bratislava at least two days a week.
Technical Skills (Required):
- Java (Java 8 or newer) and Spring Boot 2/3
- JPA and Hibernate
- Relational databases and SQL
- Full software development lifecycle, including agile methodologies
- Distributed architectures
- Putty
Beneficial Skills:
- OpenAPI and interface generation
- Docker and Kubernetes
- RESTful Web Services
- Experience in FinTech

Wage: 3 500 - 4 000 EUR gross per month. Of course, you will receive a competitive compensation package, which we would be happy to discuss with you personally. We are willing to offer more than this starting salary, depending on your experience and qualifications.
